Tomorrow I'm closing my Twitter account. I don't use it much. More importantly I can't support the interaction that Musk has had with the PM today about the disgraceful, racist riots. Thanks for being connected with me. And farewell to X.

Horrific scenes in Sunderland tonight. Let’s be clear - these are not protests. This is coordinated criminal violence, hooliganism and vandalism using the cover of a truly horrific and tragic event. This is not who we are in the north east.

Lausanne. City of shameless opulence. During the week I'm Head of Global Securities at Union des Banques Suisse. At weekends I'm a part-time campsite-dwelling hobo.

Brussels. Where Pride extends to the zebra crossings. And the Mannekin P continues to be amusing.

Retirement turns out to be a busy passtime. 6 meetings since Monday - four involving discussion about possible consultancy work in Stockton and the Boro. Oh, and 71 miles on the bike in the finest weather Teesside has to offer

Watching BBC Parliament. Debate about the King's speech. Noticeably notable how many of the new MPs are in their 20s and 30s. Well done, looks like we may be leaving the country in safe hands.

Meanwhile, a new tent appears to have appeared in the garden. Proceeds of the Catalyst departure voucher, received with thanks!

Time to let a thousand flowers bloom (Mao-tse-Tung)

Starmer meets Swinney. The return of the bland, competent, besuited middle aged male politician.

Are England still the favourites?

Enjoying Glastonbury 2024, although I still haven't found what I'm looking for
