Good luck to Great Britain's U18s, who are flying out to Hungary for four days of training and competition.

How did we sink so low on helping desperate children in this country? ⁦@annelongfield⁩: “Trying to kill yourself is not enough to get mental health support. They ask: ‘Did the child really intend to end their life or not?’ Could things be worse? theguardian.com/society/articl…

Bury, Manchester, fails its Ofsted/CQC Area SEND Inspection. Poor experiences of children with SEND & families. Despite training, EHCP quality unacceptable, many significantly out-of-date. Poor comms, no voice of the child, poor graduated response: zurl.co/QWvK

We love ‘Supertato’ by @suehendra & @PauLinnet - we’ve enjoyed activities including saving the vegetables that live in our home corner from the evil pea and making our own potato heroes to take home - our children have been so excited! 🥔📚✨ #WorldBookDay2024

What if teachers were subjected to the kind of rewards-based classroom-management system (including a behavior chart) that's commonly used to control students? This thread describes the eye-opening results of a brief, informal experiment: threadreaderapp.com/thread/1755986…

Visited the lovely @Hollymountbury today and met the gorgeous Riley! 🐾 What a joy to have such a wonderful school dog - in the brief time I was there so many children enjoyed contact with her 💙

I was hoping that a labour government would be the change we needed to stop young people being failed by the schooling system. But as long as the focus is attendand and not wellbeing or meeting needs, young people will continue to be failed and it is heartbreaking. 1/2

The single biggest problem in education today: children aren’t at school. Labour has a plan to get our children into school and learning again. Excellence must be for everyone.

This is so disappointing. I had real hopes that the @UKLabour would be able to see beyond the rhetoric and think flexibly about education, but this is more of the same. Attendance itself isn't the problem. Poor attendance signals that there is a problem. You can't make that…

I’m grateful for this type of gaffe - which makes the lack of decency and respect obvious. Let’s not forget this piece of honesty when the General Election rolls around #voteLabour @JamesFrith
