@johnyeo_I don't know how but I ended up building risk & compliance software for fintechs...? (YC F24)
YC's been an experience unlike any other so far, can't wait to do amazing things with @ay_ushr :) And if you're thinking about applying to W25, 100% go for it
Recase (YC F24) automates fintech onboarding and underwriting tasks, turning manual reviews into instant approvals. Connect data vendors, build rules, and use AI to automate any blocking action. ycombinator.com/launches/MEL-r… Congrats on the launch, @johnyeo_ and @ay_ushr!

We're so passionate about reducing fintech compliance friction we had to sing about it. Yes we are out of GTM ideas.
AI never fails to amaze, more so when it's done through your product Check out this workflow my co-founder built which automatically handles the review of a chargeback using a bunch / tree of chained AI prompts: Maybe we should start targeting AI workflows more generally...? jk
been living on LinkedIn Sales Nav for the past year tried spray and pray, hyper personalisation, a mix of both -- nothing moving the needle as much as I'd like haven't tried AI anyone know any other outbound strats for B2B SaaS?
Since I've been building in risk for fintechs, I've learned that compliance *actually sucks*. So much red tape and friction (KYC/KYB/AML) that slows growth down. We've been backed by YC (F24) to automate and minimize it. Recase is an AI Zapier for shitty fintech processes.
Praying to @PeterLZhou and @cyrieu the angels of pivot hell We just want an idea like @RutterAPI why does it have to be so hard
devs, what are the pros and cons of deploying a backend on aws? been talking to several ppl and many find it challenging to set up say ec2 for instance, and I wonder why not just go for something like heroku or google cloud run which imo is easier is it the 100k aws credits??
Finally launched on @devhunt_! Made this listing months ago and no expectation for this tbh, but vote if you'd like :)
→ Visual Backend is a desktop app by @johnyeo_ that revolutionizes backend development. It streamlines your workflow, eliminating repetitive tasks and allowing you to focus on your app's core logic. 🔴 Live on Dev Hunt → devhunt.org/tool/visual-ba…
I tested it out on Parallels and it worked fine, but if anyone is willing to help me test it out on an actual Windows machine I'd really appreciate it 😅
omg finally managed to get VB code signed on Windows, this might've been a huge deterrent for users about 20% of waitlist signups ended up creating an account, so curious to see if this number will increase now Also just saw @d4m1n's post, but the damage was alr done sighhh

Learning a little about neural networks and it's like, how does one even invent something like matrices?? Wouldn't intuition tell you to multiply rows by rows, but then you contextualise matrix multiplication and row * col makes sense
Made a little tutorial on creating the backend for a Todo app using @supabase and Visual Backend amidst the OpenAI chaos lol Prob not super helpful to anyone but thought I'd start with a classic haha, hope it's entertaining at least 😃
What are the benefits of running serverless functions (like Google Cloud Functions) as compared to running a monolithic / microservice server also in the cloud (like Google Cloud Run)?
I'm trying to learn nextjs app router and it feels so complicated with all the new ssr features etc. and I'm using "use client" in almost every component cuz I needa update state is this bad??
Does anyone remember what Yahoo did? I remember email and a webpage and that they were everywhere in the past but it's crazy how I barely remember what they used to do
Planning to post more full length tutorials and short videos about building backend services with Visual Backend. What would you like to see? Here are some I'm already thinking about: - Todo app - Social media app - GPT wrapper
Here's a video of me adding @supabase auth to a project in just under 2 minutes
Been struggling to get regular users for VB and I think one reason for that is because I'm trying to sell many features instead of 1 really good one So I've decided to narrow down to helping users integrate external services (like Supabase, Stripe) amazingly fast and simple
