I've been called a left-wing nutjob and a far-right extremist (the latter, more often in recent times), yet if I take the result of my "Political Compass" at face value, I would suspect that Authoritarian vs. Libertarian is often the larger ideological divide than Left vs. Right.
“Listen to the doctors/experts” just doesn’t hit like it used to bc the doctors/experts were shown time and time again to be ideologically cloistered, cronied up, censorious and wrong. There were docs/experts (and non-experts) who got it right and didn’t lie! I trust them.
Yes, @davidzweig got school openings and child masking right. The Ivy league, MD, MPH ignored what all of Europe was doing in realtime and got it wrong. But sure, use your credentials to pretend there was consensus among experts 🙄
