This needs more publicity... The government sees this as an opportunity to get their fingers in what used to be a pot dedicated for the improvement/enhancement of our provincial 911 system, bringing it to the level of that found in the rest of the country.
Govt is bringing 911 under Dept of Justice to find some potential efficiencies in admin - no problem. However, in doing so will be raiding the enhanced 911 fund $20 mill and taking every cent thereafter that we pay on phone bills for 911. I WILL NOT be supporting this Bill!!

A quick fact check. NL is downplaying the tax revenue In total the province collects *40 cents* on every litre The 8.8 cent carbon tax (which it puts in as a "federal tax") is a tax the NL government brought in and keeps 100% It also keeps about 16 cents a litre from HST
