In prepping for a new RCT, I asked a major assessment licensing company to give me a quote for a license to administer THREE measures that are copyrighted by them. They quoted me $25k. No. Not $2500. $25,000. (1/8)

The situation is bleak -- such a lack of Black representation in psychology. We need systematic reform to move forward and make studying and practicing psychology in Canada a more inclusive and diverse reality. buff.ly/47w4mpG

I feel like I’ve been preaching this first point FOR YEARS and am recently seeing it becoming more common narrative.

The questions from tonight’s workshop indicate that we need to better educate students on the varying career paths in psych. It’s also becoming increasingly clear that students believe publications are required to enter a PhD program. Thoughts on how to address this as a field?

Never promote overwork. It's not a sign of passion or dedication, it's misguided & deeply unhealthy.

As I pulled my resident aside after a tough day doing regional anesthesia, I asked the same first question I always ask when I have clinical competency concerns, “How are things at home?” Most of the time the answer is “fine.” This time the answer was “I have cancer.” 1/

Yesterday I had a student ask me to reteach her something because she was “too lazy” to watch the recording I provided for a class she missed. Literally said this to my face. I do not know what more we can do.
