It's easy for managers to get overwhelmed with meetings. I've found a powerful @obsdmd strategy that has super charged my confidence in my decision making. If you follow this process, you'll think clearer, and make better decisions. Here's how:

Absolutely brutal subscription anti-pattern used by @EducativeInc You must sign up for auto-renewal to get access, and there is no reminder prior to being charged. Lesson for us SaaS companies looking to prioritize customer experience vs. counting on folks to forget things.

We're getting some shoutouts!

Without a doubt the most exciting demo in data streaming right now. Check it out and spread the word!

Kafka excels at handling real-time data streams, offering a reliable, distributed, and fault-tolerant solution. However, it can take a long time to build even the simplest applications on top of Kafka. TypeStream makes it easy: 👇

This is a friendly reminder to all my developer friends (and anyone with a skill). I don’t care if you’ve been programming for a year or 20, your skill and experience is valuable. If someone is asking for help with a project SHOULD BE COMPENSATED for this value.

Friend from ten years ago: Yo! Long time! Want to grab a beer? Me: Great to hear from you! I would love that.. <at pub catching up for an hour afterwards...> Them: Do you still build apps? I have this killer app idea. Me: *massive internal sigh*

After a restructuring at my former employer I’m now on the job market. Looking for Lead/Principal Design IC or Design Management roles, primarily in UX, product design, or brand (but preferring to focus on product). linkedin.com/in/johnathayde/

It's beautiful that there is so much flexibility in this industry that the shape of one's role can change so much even within the organization.

A great hiring process is a competitive advantage Here's a 9 step guide to stand-out to the right talent:

I was out of the loop on one of the teams I managed. We found we hadn't landed on the right level of updates that I felt I needed. We agreed on giving any kind of update daily and I'd let him know if it's too much. It's been the right amount. Easy win to build alignment.

Great article @nonpedantic! I would add one more: - Prototype / Sales Engineer - Able to pull pieces together quickly to demonstrate value. TL;DR - Software Architect More niche than a Staff Engineer - Product Management - I did this for awhile. Very valuable for an eng.

Career paths for Developers. Hint: there’s more than 2. bit.ly/3wUlPIn by @nonpedantic
