This flew under the radar: Adam Schiff and other reps seeking answers from Google about AI Overviews and concerns over errors, misleading information, and the trustworthiness of sources cited. I'll share more insights soon: schiff.house.gov/news/press-rel…

Google Pmax ads are the worst thing to ever happen to advertising. Upload assets. Identity KPI's and it will spew out ..... "the best performing", worst ads you've ever seen optimized against the dumbest metrics. Mostly by placing to the fattest fingered/bot farm/on junk…

I wrote a post for the gold standard publication in our space @sengineland talking about how I think we move forward after the Google documentation leak searchengineland.com/how-seo-moves-… Draw your own conclusions, but these are my thoughts.

Today's newsletter is the story of how Prabhakar Raghavan, Google's former head of ads - led a coup so that he could run Google Search, and how an email chain from 2019 began a cascade of events that would lead to him running it into the ground. wheresyoured.at/the-men-who-ki…

They also MUST comport their SEO worldview through a lens compatible with the data they can afford to purchase (As an SEO tool provider, I am often guilty of this)

Please do not let any SEO tool provider dictate how you think about, understand, and do SEO. They have different motivations than you, and aren't good with context and nuance.

So what's the lesson for businesses here? - Watch for grumbling and LISTEN to it. - Don't assume that because people have swallowed a price or service change that'll swallow another one. - Treat user trust as a finite asset. Because it is.

The concept of rebranding for no reason remains one of my biggest pet peeves. This looks like motor oil. Give me the old packaging back! 😫

Stop writing as much new content. Start rewriting existing content.

Stories like this are why I bring max skepticism to any SEO agency that pitches us. Stay safe out there everyone!

I heard a story from an in-house SEO at a big company. Said that when they started they were sent an SEO Audit recently done by a big name & was told it cost $40,000. The audit turned out to just be a @screamingfrog export. Tip of the hat to whoever pullled that off.

A little late but thanks to the @stlCITYsc team for the tour! Now I can flex that I’ve “been in the owner’s suite” I just won’t mention when.

The more you know!

I think it's funny that there's a whole generation of digital startup new economy companies that have "-ly" in their names just because Libya decided to sell their top-level domain to anyone willing to pay for it a few years earlier this century.
