I’ve been off Twitter and expressed my feelings about current events on other platforms but I’ll say this: I thought the Tulsa massacre was a fictional plot point in HBO’s Watchmen. Our history has blind spots. Watching #13th on Netflix is a good first step in uncovering them.
Turns out The Dress was oddly prescient about our future state. All looking at the same thing, utterly convinced our own perspective was correct, baffled how anyone could see it differently.
In almost all cases I would agree store brand is every bit as good as name brand, with one major exception: cotton swabs vs. Q-tips. The latter is so significantly superior in both structural integrity and cotton density that using anything less is futile.
The Vat of Acid Episode has gotta be the most vital #RickandMorty in years, exemplifying the clever humor, meta awareness and profound sci-fi implications the series does best. A savage power battle between two deeply understood characters.
The most memorable food experience I’ve had in lockdown is detailed in this article. Vespertine is doing something special right now. Highly recommend if you’re in LA.
Who knew Vespertine’s Jordan Kahn could make such comforting takeout food? (He did) latimes.com/food/story/202…
I watched all the 90s Bulls championship runs with my late father. He wasn’t the greatest communicator so until my late teenage years sports was how we bonded. Revisiting these games let me relive those memories. He would have loved #TheLastDance
To the trailer editors: When do you have the most anxiety about a cut?
How many days into lockdown am I? However many it takes for Face ID to stop recognizing you.
BIG thanks to everyone sharing the film out there! Now Available to Rent/Purchase on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Vudu, FandangoNow, On Demand (Spectrum, Comcast, Cox, Cablevision), Frontier, Verizon, DirecTV, AT&T. ❤️🙏🏻
#TheWayBack finally gives us the real-deal dramatic Ben Affleck performance he’s been chasing for a decade. He’s excellent and the movie is pretty damn good too. Could be the cabin fever but I cheered during the sports scenes.
I always enjoy when an experienced director flexes on an established TV show and damn was Vince Gilligan in the zone on the last ep of #BetterCallSaul. Straight up Breaking Bad level.
I’ve been a fan of #TheStrokes my whole adult life. Saw them live twice, in 2002 and last Demember at their amazing NYE show. After a bunch of listens I‘d say The New Abnormal is the band’s most focused and cohesive album since Room on Fire. Best Casablancas has sounded too.
Old fav things: -going out to eat -hanging with friends -massages -hiking -traveling -watching movies Revised fav things: -food delivery -packages from Amazon -making Insta videos -improving my VC background -growing a lockdown beard -watching movies
It’s weird how quickly even the most grounded movies and TV shows have become escapist simply by portraying the normal everyday public life we all took for granted.
Super impressed by s1 of #Ozark. Unrelentingly intense, emotionally punishing and darkly funny. Bateman has evolved into a great dramatic actor but I honestly think he’s an even better director. All the episodes he helmed were standouts.
