Please bear with the thread, but Harry Reid meant a lot to me and I want to share a short story about why. In 2002, I was press secretary for Senator Paul Wellstone’s re-election campaign in Minnesota.

I am sorry to learn of the passing of Sen. Harry Reid. After a NAACP 1000 mile march for #VotingRights, we met with him. His leadership got Democrats behind the then strongest #VotingRightsAct legislation. That meeting & his blunt honesty were encouragement to our exhaustion. RIP

Harry Mason Reid, who rose from Dickensian childhood poverty in the rural Nevada desert to the heights of power in Washington, where he steered the Affordable Care Act to passage as Senate majority leader, died Tuesday. He was 82. My obit > nytimes.com/2021/12/28/obi…

The extended Reid universe can be found throughout progressive politics, because he was the most underrated progressive leader of the past 20 years. RIP.

BREAKING: Harry Reid, probably the most important elected official in Nevada history, has died at 82. My condolences to his family and friends.

An incredible judge. After the 9/11 attacks, Judge Weinstein, at 80, insisted on getting to the Brooklyn courthouse and working. He told me it was vital that the justice system keep working, no matter what

Here’s a sad scoop. Brooklyn Federal Judge Jack Weinstein, who worked the Brown v Board of Education case and was appointed by LBJ to the bench in 1967, died today. He was 99 and two months shy of 100. nydailynews.com/new-york/ny-ja…

Larry King wanted the Perfect Bagel. When I worked as a waitress in Beverly Hills, he’d come in for lunch almost every Thursday. The hostesses always gave him the best table, a corner booth, which just so happened to be in my regular section. I don’t remember his order. 1/
