“You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.” -Zig Ziglar
The power of following God rather than our heart is that the former is constant, while the latter is fleeting.
Unlike investing your time in growing your business or improving your fitness which only benefits you in this life, spending time at the feet of Jesus impacts you in this life and the next. It’s a double ROI!
Doing all of the little, easy items on your to-do list is the equivalent of fools gold—they’re pretty & shiny, but don’t carry much value. Those other items on your list that you ignored because they were too big & scary... those items are the REAL GOLD.
Trials can either be seen as merely uncomfortable and inconvenient, or they can be viewed as useful and purifying. It’s your choice.
If you don’t set boundaries, you can’t be upset when work bleeds into your life. When I become lax on mine, it isn’t long before relationships with my wife & daughters deteriorate & become strained. Boundaries might sound restrictive but in actuality, they’re life-giving!
There’s beauty all around you. Whether you see it or not is 100% dependent upon you.
Normal approach: “I’m going to spend 15 minutes journaling, 30 minutes in the Word & 15 minutes in prayer.” New approach: “Lord, I have an hour this morning. How would you like to spend it?” One dictates how I’ll interact with my Creator. The other allows me to humbly be led.
Have you created an environment where wisdom is welcomed?

Shallow ideas come from shallow expertise which comes from shallow amounts of time dedicated to your craft. The only way to be considered an expert is to dedicate the time necessary to generate deep ideas.
Your course is directed by the things you focus on—literally & figuratively. Literal ex: while driving, if you look over your right shoulder into the back seat, you’ll veer right. Figurative ex: if you focus on Christ, you’ll become more like him.
We all carry things that weigh us down, like worries, resentments, stress, and sin. Unfortunately, the longer we carry those things, the less we notice their weight. Eventually you might forget you even have things to let go of!
Dads, here’s one simple change to your daily routine that your kids will never forget (seriously).
