Afghanistan is a reminder of how dysfunctional and repressive most of the governments of the Muslim-majority world are. What happened to the ‘ummah’? Why not throw your doors open to refugees? Why not use your collective power, resources, weapons, wealth, to tackle the Taliban?
Here’s an idea. Pakistan and the Gulf countries have long had (some/different forms of) leverage over the Taliban. Pakistan and the Gulf countries are allies of America. Maybe America focuses on pressuring its allies.
