Okay I just looked it up and my first apartment after college IS still very affordable (I can’t get a price for the one bedroom I had, but the two bedroom in that complex is less than $700 a month) BUT You’ve gotta be able to put up with window unit air, and lots of fake wood 🪵
Don’t get it wrong: you could definitely work normal jobs like a cashier or librarian or cook and afford an apartment until maybe like 2012ish? I’m a geriatric millennial and I remember the rent on my first apartment being like $800. That same apartment now would be $3k.
