Today’s final rule from @EPA on particle pollution is a step forward for public health. While it’s not as strong as what the science shows is necessary, the final rule will save lives. We now urge @POTUS to finalize the other pending healthy air rules. on.lung.org/3SML0aq

The acceleration of climate change has severely affected LA residents. The American Lung Association gives Los Angeles an F grade for being the most ozone-polluted city in America. The city also ranks among the dirtiest with the most long-term and short term particle pollution.

LA freeways have displaced marginalized communities, creating an unequal dynamic where white, affluent communities benefit at the expense of others. #W60Topic I chose this topic to observe the unequal effects of air pollution on the most vulnerable populations. #W60Sustain

Similarly, the air pollution from LA freeways has adversely impacted minority communities living in those areas, contributing to the growing eco-apartheid that is quickly consuming the United States. #W60Sustain

The enormous amounts of toxic waste dumps in LA affecting the low income minorities in those areas; including their health, living environment, and the case of environmental racism they face. #W60Topic #ToxicWasteDumps #EnvironmentalRacism

How have corporations and urban planners used LA freeways to displace marginalized communities, and what are the effects of pollution on people living there today? What is the current government doing about LA's massive air pollution problem? #CPResearchQuestion #W60Sustain
