To celebrate its four month birthday, a review of @macmartell THE VOYAGE OF THE FORGOTTEN just posted. Start the series with THE KINGDOM OF LIARS, and it's now complete. Amazing, Great, complete. jamreads.com/reviews/the-vo…
This is smart. AMC is going to brand its wider “regular” screens - at least forty feet wide - with a consistent XLF designation. Unclear if they will up-charge. investor.amctheatres.com/news-events/pr…
These @MovingImageNYC Frank Oz programs! Today getting to hear Frank Ox give the back story for Marvin Suggs with every bit the enthusiasm and care as when he provided Yoda’s several weeks ago during the opening weekend.
A group trying to restore a landmark Upper West Side movie theater has signed an agreement to buy the building for $7 million if it can raise the money by the end of the year. nyti.ms/4fl1pvv
Here's my @PublishersWkly profile of the fab/hilarious @grady_hendrix Grady discusses his termite home invasion; writing horror with heart; and his amazing new novel Witchcraft for Wayward Girls, out in Jan. You'll LOVE this book! @Jess_Wade @BerkleyPub❤️ publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/au…
Surprised as I make my way through Frank Oz movies @MovingImageNYC how much better both Bowfinger and House Sitter are than What About Bob.
Pro Tip - if you can’t dress up in a tux, walk the West Village w/a box of black and white cookies, & get people to take some of them, you have no chance of persuading an editor to take a manuscript into acquisitions. Rose and Joe’s in Astoria makes very good black and whites
Up there with his very best movies as a director, Eastwood’s Juror #2. Nicholas Hoult is great. boxd.it/7JzeGr
Something old, something new. As the Loews Lincoln Square approaches its 30th birthday (2 weeks!) I am enjoying what is likely my last movie in the 30 year old seats and my first movie in a newly seated auditorium - wider, more leg room, and a third fewer butts.
Nicholas Hoult ought be in the Best Actor discussion for Juror #2. It’s a great movie that deserves more exposure in theatres, and Hoult’s every little facial everything in its way as Andrew Garfield’s in We Live In Time. Very different movies both anchored by brilliant leads.
one critic’s pick after another after another in the NY Times today. And they didn’t even review Music by John Williams which is 25 great movie memories in one 90 minute package
Anyone bemoaning the state of movies these days should check out the reviews of the ones opening today. It's a veritable feast. Get thee to a movie theater this weekend. You won't regret it.
only 7 people in the theatre to see Music By John Williams this great composer and his great music deserves better than seeing on a phone or TV set. Come on NYC and get to the Regal Union Square for 90 minutes of wonderment.
Also @McFlyCahill90 and when Marty’s first novel is published how is he going to both sign the copies and put the name of the person he’s signing them for on the sticky notes.
Getting to watch author events is one of the sweetest parts of my pucking sweet job, and the NYPL is full of @emilyrathbooks fans tonight.
