Still in awe of the paramedics who somehow got an IV in me after I was down for >10 minutes due to cardiac arrest. It was 4am, dark, and their hazmat suit face shields were fogging up. Sounds impossible.

In the PARAMEDIC-3 trial involving adults with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, an intraosseous-first strategy for vascular access did not result in a higher incidence of 30-day survival than an intravenous-first strategy. Full trial results: nej.md/48uYv4A #RESUS24

Big tasks can feel overwhelming, but breaking them into smaller steps is like cleaning your room—one small win at a time. Celebrate those victories and let them fuel your progress

I find it very frustrating that all of the official literature we in the fire service use for training new firefighters, new officers, and new chief officers -- almost without fail -- is comprised of fat hardcover textbooks that are NEVER available as ebooks, PDFs, or audio.

Low EtCO2 in cardiac arrest should be considered a compression problem until proven otherwise.
