I don’t think people understand the depths and lasting effects of disrupted education, this war and the gap in education will cost future generations everything that schooling once provided. Never mind the Sudanese refugees in other countries who can’t even access education rn.
Schools & universities in Sudan have been closed for nearly ten full months because of the war.
In Sudan, families are suffering from a severe lack of access to water, food, and basic necessities, caught in the middle of violence, and deep uncertainty. While the world shares curated playlists and festive moments, millions are fighting just to survive. #KeepEyesOnSudan
My students walked into class today screaming, “MISS- what’s happening in Sudan is crazy, it was all over Instagram this weekend.” Let this serve as motivation for everyone posting on social media and feeling as if no one is paying attention. They’re listening. #KeepEyesOnSudan
Being Sudanese means being in a constant state of mourning and desperation. It means having a loved one die every couple of weeks and not being able to do anything about it, it means seeing your home being burnt to the ground and your people suffering and just watching it happen.
If you’re posting about your wack ass trip to the UAE, plan on ever traveling to the UAE or so much as think about the UAE unfollow me, better yet block me. I hope to live long enough to see the fall of the UAE ya rabb. Hope is fleeting, screw the UAE!!!!! #KeepEyesOnSudan
yo what’s the point anymore. I ain’t chasing nothing that isn’t my salah, opportunities to remember Him & just properly detaching from this world. everyday they’re killing us, ours. this is too much. this can’t be, but it is. this dunyah ain’t worth the gum on my shoe.
“Green October” was, and still is, the anthem of revolutions in Sudan. Popularized during the country’s first intifada in 1964, against the military regime of Abboud, it eulogizes the courageous revolutionary nature of the Sudanese people. Rest in peace + power.
Wardi's rendition of October al-akhdar (Green October) written by the poet Mohamed Mekki Ibrahim, who passed away today 🌹RIP.
I remember walking these streets seeing sudanis filled w sm despair, who would’ve known that these same streets would also witness Sudanese Joy. A full victory by Allahs will soon !!! #KeepEyesOnSudan
Huge celebrations amongst the Sudanese refugees in Cairo tonight after the Army’s major advances against the RSF militia. #Sudan
The timeline is SO hopeful today and it hasn’t been this way since 2019!! Pls ya Allah do not let the Sudanese people halt their celebrations too soon. A full victory inshallah 😭
او كما قال التنين
في شوط تاني واشواط اضافية وضربات جزاء واعادة المباراة من الاول تاني عقب ضربات الجزاء
my dream is to just spend the rest of my life reading, learning, and teaching about Sudan inshaAllah
What I hated most about visiting Egypt, was seeing the elder Sudani community lose all their hope, because they know in their lifetime at least they’ll never see Sudan again. Like you can sense the numbness and indifference in their faces and it’s heartbreaking #KeepEyesOnSudan
These days, I’m begging anyone to ask me where I’m from, just so I can tell them about what’s happening in Sudan.
Endless cycle of violence. Endless cycle of displacement. Endless cycle of pain. And where do we focus? Every time we turn our attention to one place, another falls. What do we do? How do we help? When will this nightmare end? #KeepEyesOnSudan
Don’t know what to do. Retweeting feels absolutely stupid.
