I am terribly saddened to learn that my colleague Jörg Trempler has passed away. You may honor Jörg’s legacy by reading his books on Schinkel, the iconography of disasters or, my favorite, an excellent reedition of Savigny’s and Corréard’s Medusa report. Jörg may rest in peace!

Was für traurige Nachrichten.

Friendly interdisciplinary reminder that if you publish in an OA journal, scholars might actually read your BS contribution to art history. Did Michelangelo paint a young adult woman with breast cancer in “The Flood” (Sistine Chapel, Rome)? - The Breast thebreastonline.com/article/S0960-…

I am proud to announce the publication of my rediscovery of an important Renaissance monument (ironically just a few minutes walk from the @BiblHertz).

Sad but true: „If you ever wanted to experience the unique atmosphere of a colloquium / seminar in Einsiedeln, this may be your last chance“

As ever, hotel and most meal costs are covered by the library (but not travel). Papers may be presented in English, German, French, or Italian. If you ever wanted to experience the unique atmosphere of a colloquium / seminar in Einsiedeln, this may be your last chance! 2/2

Internet Archive (archive.org) is back, after cyber-attacks removed it from action. Most valuable to (and most missed by) many of us is its mind-blowingly large collection of out-of-print PDFs, including most books relating to Classics from 1800 to 1930. A great site!
