Here's a thing "Asset rich but cash poor" was a term used a lot yesterday referencing the Farmer's demo against inheritance tax. Reminded me it's also used to describe elderly home owners, whose families are obliged to sell the family home to pay for the care of ageing parents.

Compare the wall to wall coverage by the BBC of the #Clarksontax protests today, with a turnout of 10,000 …. With the almost zero coverage when 60,000 marched for Nature, back in June.
I understand business - Farmer owns a 4m quid farm but struggl3s to make it pay because supermarkets and food manufactirers have him over a barrel and as for IHT his farm would only be worth 2 million or less but Tax dodgers have bought up loads of farm land as non taxable asset…

Well said Labour! About time we shut up the right wing commentariat who are making out this will spell the end of farms! The fact is, Brexit has harmed farmers far more than this inheritance tax will!
