It's Octa and WRN's turn to release their midyear national polls! The March surveys were nearly the same: the Marcos admin coalition leading with a plurality, Dutertes HNP/PDP at second and the Opposition at third. Would there be a major swing in June, or just an unchanged race?

Today is the third death anniversary of former President Benigno Aquino III🎗️. PNoy was a liberal democratic icon who served as the 15th President of the Republic. Aquino once served in the Senate during the 14th Congress. In 2007, he was elected with near majority support. 🗺️

Fast forward to his Presidency, Aquino was generally viewed as a favorable President. He started with nearly 80% approval to about half when his term ended. Filipinos also approved his administration's handling of important issues.🎗️

Major polling firms put Aquino as the second highest approved President. Aquino's 2013 midterm election victory was a manifestation of his popularity. His approval however dipped during the second half of his term. He still managed to outpace his predecessors. 🎗️

Tolentino's relatives in local posts are from NUP. Billionaire CEO Enrique Razon is one of its major backers. Other big names from the party: Party President Congressman Lray Villafuerte and Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco.

The National Unity Party might field Senatorial candidates for next year's election. This would be the first time since its founding. They are also set to join the Alyansa ng Bagong Pilipinas coalition of Pres. Marcos. If Tolentino goes to NUP, he will become its first Senator.

2022 City of Naga Election Results In the Presidential race, Vice President Leni Robredo received landslide support from her hometown. At the same time, Incumbent Mayor Nelson Legacion was elected by a plurality. They will likely face-off in next year's Mayoral race. #ianmaps🗺️

2022 Congressional candidate Noel de Luna ranks fifth and might be considering a House bid again next year. No word yet from Former Mayor John Bongat. Mendoza and Bongat challenged Incumbent Mayor Legacion in 2022, causing his vote share to weaken at 43% only. #Naga

Businessman Tato Mendoza also met with Robredo a few months ago, possibly about forming an alliance. He is said to have been waiting of the Former VP's announcement. Tato is a distant third in the poll. Incumbent Vice Mayor Nene De Asis is up for re-election. #Naga

The Vice Mayoral race is up for grabs too. Term-limited Congressman Gabby Bordado might be on the VM list of Robredo. He is a close ally of the Former Vice President. He served as Vice Mayor, deputy of Mayor Jesse Robredo in the 2000s. He is polling at 3% for Mayor. #Naga

Local polls put Robredo in a solid double-digit lead versus Legacion. In the Ateneo de Naga University survey, Robredo is ahead by 21%. Legacion might opt to run for the House seat. The same poll also puts him at second place with 18% preference while Robredo is at 53%. #Naga

The long wait is over, Former Vice President Leni Robredo🎗️announces 2025 Mayoral bid. She's at home in Naga City today. In all of her three campaigns, she carried Naga with over three-fourths of the vote. If elected, she will become the first woman Mayor of Naga. @gmanews

Senator Risa Hontiveros and Atty. Chel Diokno won big in Metro Manila in the 2022 Senatorial election. They also carried a majority of NCR Barangays. Diokno was the topnotcher in 117 Barangays, Hontiveros in 37. Maps Incoming! #ianmaps🗺️
