Recently I traveled 3 kms in Bangalore,An auto on the road charged me ₹250. Ride-hailing platforms like Uber and Ola charged ₹150. The Karnataka government deemed these platforms illegal as they breached the mandated price. But should only platforms be regulated?

Can I get them without marriage? 🥹

Almost convinced that people marry only to get free back rubs

I don’t know who needs to hear this but there is a 30 minute video called “Studio Ghibli Nature Loop” on HBO Max that just plays different pretty scenes from Ghibli movies with ambient sound

During the Bangalore floods, an area that was badly affected was Outer Ring Road i.e ground zero of tech companies. In all the footage, you'll notice a red skywalk appear again and again. There's a story behind this skywalk. And it's a metaphor for the city's urban governance.

I'm happy to announce that we're part of the @ycombinator Summer 2022 batch 🎉 At @tershoHQ, we're building an AI assistant for spreadsheets, making it easy to write and understand spreadsheet formulas. Try the live demo at tersho.com

Excited to reveal ✨Tersho✨ Tersho is a Google Sheets add-on that uses AI to write and explain formulas! (coming to Excel very soon) Here's a super cool demo: loom.com/share/ff511bb2…

How easy it is for a handful of people in power to strip you of your rights

There are so many plans that I don't even bother to make cause I'll hate the commute

Devastated to hear this news. KK was a huge part of my childhood and still is a huge part of the music I cherish. It was a privilege to have watched him sing. Rest is peace KK

TIL that science can’t measure exactly how strong a gorilla is, and so there is no way to know for sure how to contain them. The gorilla enclosures at zoos are just vibes.

The way my body clock worked before deadlines was fascinating. Now I simply forget 8 am meetings

College had me doing dumb stuff like taking a nap at 9:00 pm and then I would get up and do homework

If it seems like novel (SARS2, MERS, Chik) or rare (Zika, Ebola, Marburg) viruses are becoming more common, it’s because they are. Climate change is driving emergence & reemergence of viral pathogens. Nice work by @wormmaps et al modeling the increased risk of zoonotic spillover

As climate change reshapes life on earth, it may also become the single biggest upstream driver of pandemic risk. Our new study in @Nature simulates how 3,139 species will share viruses - and create new spillover risk hotspots - over the next 50 years. nature.com/articles/s4158…

“Either physics as we know it is wrong or someone missed a minus sign somewhere” is perfect

If the new result is correct (i.e. not an experimental error) it means either 1)The Standard Model is incomplete (i.e. there is a new particle or force required) 2)The theoretical prediction for the W mass is wrong (bug in some code, someone forgot a minus sign)

What!? I wake up and Hubble is winning? May I remind you that @ESAGaia is not only giving us the #MilkyWay in #3D, but allows us to predict occultations of trans-neptunian objects and even measure the orbital acceleration of the Sun moving around the Galactic Center?!
