In 1958, ODNR's Merrill Gilfillan proposed The Buckeye Trail to get young people to slow down & enjoy the native land. @hikethebt has evolved into a state-designated trail that journeys 1,400+ miles to all four corners of Ohio as you Follow the Blue Blazes of the Buckeye Trail.
