If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?
My 42yr old twin brother died in ITU of COVID-19 last week. He died exactly 4 weeks after testing positive. He was the fittest, healthiest person I know. He was climbing Welsh mountains & wild camping 4 weeks before his death.
Figuring out THE POINT of your story is officially the hardest part of writing. Doing it before you start a story, or after you have a draft...it doesn't matter. I just can't narrow it down to a single driving idea, and I hate that.
I can't believe how easy it is for a 2 day break to turn into 2 weeks. *headdesk* Gotta get back to writing!
That awkward moment when a planned horror novel is pulling me more toward the romance genre and a happy ending. This book was originally going to be quite dysfunctional, and the lead was going to be a tragic figure, and now I just want happy endings for the two leads. Oops.

I keep feeling like I really need to "round out" my protagonist, but I'm not sure how. I know in part it's getting that first draft done, and building upon it, but my insecurities have been recently manifesting as "disinterest" in returning to drafting so I'm nowhere near done!
