This EU #MigrationPact is a disaster. Whoever believes this #CEAS agreement will decrease violence at the EU's external borders is simply deluded. This pact is a victory for Europe's far right. A dark and shameful day.

🧵 The #MigrationPact negotiations are over. As EU leaders are about to sell this as a "historic" reform of the migration system in Europe, we join other leading human rights orgs in denouncing its harms. What this Pact will mean for people in practice 👇🏾

🚨 Deal on the new Pact on migration and asylum: the EU takes a big step to build fortress Europe. Big ideological win for the far right. And they will win more in the ballots.

Why, if the crises notion is so fuzzy, is it still useful as an analytic term? @FranziscaZ, @magdalena Suerbaum, @StockInka, @Nauja_Kleist present a surprising coherence into a range of actors’ experiences and interests at our network meeting.@mpimmg @dfg_public @ifeasmainz
