Studies suggest that appreciating beauty in the everyday may be just as powerful as a sense of overarching purpose. bit.ly/3OoFUga

tonite, happiness is: a couch, a cat and ‘a hunter-gatherer’s guide to the 21st century.’ thanks @HeatherEHeying & @BretWeinstein for the book I can’t put down. 🥂

FUN debate in this thread. I’d guess regional accents have plenty to do with the strong preferences here. I prefer “an historic” since I prefer an almost-absent “H” sound. sounds more like “an istoric.” rolls nicely off the tongue.

originally read this as 'higher trust in INSTITUTIONS.' had to click to understand. Ah, *intuition.* interesting read (even if trusting......the postal service isn't why the ladies like the magic)✨

Higher trust in intuition helps account for why women are more likely to believe in magical phenomena psypost.org/2020/06/higher…

Watched 3 hours of @MSNBC & 3 hours of @FoxNews today & realized all over again that the venn diagram of American ideology is primarily two circles with *ZERO* overlap. 🔵🔴 one exception! they both hate the phrase "a few bad apples." 🍎🍏 #protests2020 #protests

My students are writing Austen adaptations (in the broadest possible sense), and one is writing in the form of Reddit "Am I the Asshole?" posts, and I'm just beside myself with joy.
