A recipe for lake effect snow: All 5 Great Lakes are record-warm, from +2°C (+3.6°F) in Lake Superior to +3.6°C (6.5°F) in Lake Michigan. Over the past 50 years, summertime water temps have warmed by 3°C (5°F) in Lake Superior and Huron, and 1.7°C (3°F) in Lake Michigan and Erie.
