@DollyKikon and I write on Baghjan. This essay is part of our ongoing initiative to address the situation in Baghjan after the "longest running oil spill in the country". Waiting for Justice: The Baghjan Oil Blow Out theindiaforum.in/environment/wa… @TheIndiaForum

Oddity (2024) by Damian McCarthy—One of the best supernatural horrors I have watched in recent years! Definitely scratched the itch after The Dark and the Wicked. Effective jumpscares, tense atmosphere and a straightforward story! #horrormovie #oddity #supernaturalhorror

What are your "10/10, will never rewatch" movies?" This one absolutely wrecked me. Such a gut-wrenching portrayal of grief! Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal make you root for them bad+ incredible acting from Claire Foy and Jamie Bell! Our ghosts are everything left unsaid.

An old couple attempts to rescue their grandson and former DIL from her abusive husband. Did not expect it to be as intense as it was. Felt more like a horror movie than a thriller. Stunning cinematography and stellar performances!

Movie recs from my recent watches. Vengeance (22)— a murder mystery that is so much more! A witty, sharp voice which at times can't help getting carried away. Climax felt abrupt, but the dialogue alone makes it worth a watch!

My debut book— 'The Forest That Ate People & Other Not-so-scary Stories' from @theAntonymmag turns one today! Gratitude to everyone who has supported my work. You have been my fireflies through every new moon! Sharing an excerpt from the titular story. Purchase link in bio♥️

Recently read Prachett's 'The Colour of Magic', and I don't know if I've ever come across a paragraph that perfectly captures the loss of cultural context in literary translation with such biting humour! [Text: Rincewind's bumps into Twoflower, Discworld's first ever tourist!]

"It's a truly lucky man who knows what he wants to do in this world. Cause that man will never work a day in his life. But there are a few, a precious few, and, hell, I don't know if they're lucky or not. But there are a few people who find something they have to do..."

All women experience the dread of dark spaces, the quickening of heartbeat when we hear footsteps, the unshakeable feeling that danger is lurking. And the burden of a body which is also bait. It's exhausting...to constantly ask for safety, for justice, for humanity.

I spent the last few days watching absolutely jaw dropping vids of the most phenomenal female athletes achieving their dreams… And parallel to that there is the heinous incident in WB that has left us all with a sense of doom. How does one even reconcile these two realities?

Happy to share that my English translation of 'Burhi Aair Sadhu' will be published by @Bee_Books in September '24! Hopefully the changes made can make up for early shortcomings. So glad to have the opportunity to contribute, in some way, to the legacy of this immortal classic
