Finally after many years of revisions "Temporal variability can promote migration between habitats". We establish new inequalities to show how stochastic growth rate can increase with migration when fitness (dis)advantages fluctuate over time across sites. …iencedirect-com.stanford.idm.oclc.org/science/articl…
Finally sharing the preprint on migration in uncertain times! Learnt a lot working on this with @steinsaltz All feedback welcome! Summary in thread below :) biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Our first owl of the season, a Northern Saw-whet Owl resting west of Gapstow Bridge in Central Park today. 🦉 ❤️
🚨New paper at Stats in Medicine with @rahulalbussrk, @vadimZip, K. Merikangas! We introduce latent semiparametric Gaussian copula-based approach to unify functional principal component analyses of Non-Gaussian, Truncated, Discrete data from mHealth. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…
such interesting and amazing work led by a great set of authors. Check out the pre-print below :D
v happy to share new preprint on biocultural vulnerability of traditional crops in Trans Himalaya. thanks to @ksuryawanshi @kasolari @OrnithoAle Akshata, Rinchen, Lamaji, Tulja. We use experiments, genomics, & nutritional assessment to examine 1/7 link: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Very excited to share our new preprint led by the brilliant @harmanpkj! Main finding: The Indigenous crop of back peas in the Himalayas outperforms the green peas crop planted as a cash 💰 crop in terms of growth and other metrics. The paper writes itself! 🎉💪

New paper with Viktoriia Radchuk, @ksuryawanshi & @voigtbatlab . The last from my PhD at @IZWberlin and the 1st with my new workplace @ncfindia Mountains are hard to work in, bats are elusive. How well do we know bats that occur only in mountains? link.springer.com/article/10.100…
What is the most insane argument you've ever heard?
In years to come, students in university departments around the world will be studying the propaganda embedded in this headline. As someone who regularly lectures in sociology, journalism and media studies, I could teach an entire lesson on the title alone. For example: 1.…
