As a lifelong Vikings and Iowa State fan. Love me some Kene. Fabulous story. Battled through achilles injury. Excellent student. Best team player. What it is all about. @NwangwuKene

Really tired of watching young people sob on the phone to their family from under their bipap mask, maybe for the last time, just before I intubate them. Please get vaccinated. I am so f***ing tired of this.

“Medicine humbles us as clinicians; this virus has too.”

One thing I guarantee you will notice if you pay attention Doctors who have cared for #covid19 patients will never underestimate what this virus is capable of The antivax, antimask pundits who have been tweeting from the safety of their home for the past two years often will

It's a very sobering day to talk to health care professionals. You can feel the sadness, anger, frustration, fatigue as they say misinformation is literally killing people. One quote that stood out to me: "Consider your sources as if your life depended on it. Because it does"

Every night growing up. Miss this view.

Good lord. The sky in Iowa is like it was painted by God! It just makes the "Is this Heaven? No its Iowa" line completely legitimate. So amazing! #FieldOfDreamsGame #MLBatFieldofDreams

It’s worth repeating, masks are primarily *source control*, not personal protection. They help keep the infected, but not yet symptomatic, from giving COVID to others. So the idea that “you’re free to wear yours” doesn’t fix the problem for the unvaccinated, especially in schools

The horrible thing is that non-med professionals will read this and gasp, whereas physicians will go: "Yeah, I did that" #JHMChat

How close were you to IV'ing it and puking in between patients? #JHMchat

Same in our small county ICU. Every sick ICU Covid patient the last 2 months has NOT had their vaccine. The vaccines are working. We see it on the frontline. Get your vaccine for you and your loved ones.

It was the backup COVID ICU service and we still had about 60% of our patients COVID positive. And every single COVID positive patient had NOT received their first dose of the vaccine.

7 reasons why think immunity to COVID from vaccination or infection will be long-lived (and why I continue to marvel that CEOs of companies who stand to make profit from boosters get to message that boosters needed; instead, please donate vax to India). 1. Memory B cells:

Is the #COVID #vaccine safe for #pregnant or #breastfeeding individuals? Yes! A study published last week showed @pfizer & @moderna_tx vaccines are safe & effective in breastfeeding or pregnant ppl. AND it showed #vaccination provides protection to the baby, too!
