A new eruption started in Iceland at 07:58 AM this morning. I shot this from my bedroom window 🌋

After waiting at the potential eruption site for five days, it has finally started. I’m on location right now documenting it all. Stay tuned for updates! Litli-Hrútur eruption - July 10th, 2023 🔥 © Hörður Kristleifsson

Last weekend, I visited the Highlands of Iceland, hoping to capture this crater lake with frozen ground at sunrise. After a cold night in my car, I woke up at 6 AM and waited for sunrise. I was freezing, but completely forgot about it as soon as I sent the drone up ❄️

One of my favorite photos of the Fagradalsfjall eruption. I shot this in May 2021 when the crater was spewing magma jets over 400 meter up in the air. It was absolutely mind blowing to watch up-close! 🌋
