When in reality, our struggles and journeys and the things that we face may not be 1:1 parallel, but they are also not mirror opposites.
Idk how to start unpacking this but it’s a pattern I’ve started to pick up on. It creates an environment where people, transmasc and transfem, read intentions into statements that simply aren’t there. Because if smth is true for one group, the opposite must be true for the other.
that accepting that transmascs are often still impacted by misogyny MUST mean accepting that transfems still benefit from patriarchy—which could not be further from the truth, as we all know. Ergo, transmascs must not be affected by misogyny, because the opposite isn’t true.
There seems to be this idea within trans theory that anything true for transmascs, the opposite must be true for transfems and vice versa; ie trans women face misogyny therefore trans men MUST have male privilege, when it’s much more complicated than that. Which means /
I feel like the fact that the guy all this discourse is about is autistic is a huge piece of the puzzle being missed here. Why are we dogpiling an autistic trans person for black and white thinking+being confused/scared/frustrated right now+not wording something perfectly??
