Maybe if you gave the same budget and schedule to a top tier japanese animation studio they would be able to compete fairly. Arcane had a budget of around 13,8M$ per episode, while the most expensive anime cost between 120 to 170K$ per episode. That's about 100 time less!!
Idk how anyone can sit there and pretend any anime can compete with the eye candy Arcane’s been giving us rn. It’s the new standard. Japan has to assemble its A-team and fund a passion project just to get its respect back. They’re getting dogwalked by the French.

10 or 20 years ago it would have at least been given time to grow an audience, if it's not an immediate hit nowadays it's canceled. people keep saying breaking bad would've been canceled after season 1 if it'd released now and that gets truer everyday.

It saddens me how such an imaginative and creative show struggles to get a season 2, this is one of those shows that's gonna be cited as a main inspiration for movies and games 20 years from now, it's peak sci fi.
Sadly, it was confirmed yesterday by @josephbennett00 that Scavengers will not be getting a season 2 Its devastating news, and really shows the stance of entertainment business when it comes to quality storytelling. But I have faith in our audience. Scavengers will rise again!
'Scavengers Reign' co-creator Joe Bennett has confirmed on Instagram that Netflix will not be renewing the series for a second season. He posted a teaser produced at Green Street Pictures showing what was to come in season 2 if the show had been able to continue.
