In Iran, a woman who was accosted by the “morality police” for not wearing hijab removes her clothing & roams the streets in defiance. She has since been arrested by IRGC forces and forcibly disappeared. This is the brave face of true resistance.

In the flood of Sinead O’Connor material here this evening, make five minutes for this. This would only have been a few months after the SNL/Pope episode.

Dear @guardian Your Sinéad O’Connor obituary is a disgrace, tone deaf and reductive. Framed in negatives - "she lacked, she failed, she was unable” etc She was a trailblazer, brave, uncompromising, fragile who fought relentlessly for underdog. Grim. theguardian.com/music/2023/jul…

Yesterday I needed a space in Belfast City Centre to work for a few hours and popped into @2RoyalAvenue What an amazing free space for all - a cafe, free WiFi, space to work, kids space, an art exhibition. Great use of space and a real asset to the city.

In case you missed it ... Here's the Nobel prize-winning economist Esther Duflo destroying the Brexiter claim that Freedom of Movement reduces wages. As she explains, low-skilled migration has zero effect on wages. And stopping it just leads to more automation. #BrexitHasFailed

Mick and Maeve, our lovely neighbours for almost 20 years, moved out at the end of 2022. We will miss them. New people moved in a little while ago. We have no idea who they are or where they came from. We were not consulted. Probably because it's none of our business.

The heat stretching from Western Africa across the Middle East and into India atm is incredible. 45C plus (113F) in many regions across the entire landmass. These 3 major regions, where billions live, are identified as being virtually uninhabitable in a world of 2C global heating

❝ We make the world, as workers. No lights go on, none of the wheels on the railways turn, nothing gets made, without a worker putting their hand or brain to that task… We make the world work but it doesn’t work for our people. Mick Lynch dropping truth bombs at #TressellFest

What a contrast. Paris spends €1bn to clean up the Seine so people can go swimming in it while last year alone @thameswater spent 7,000 hours dumping sewage into 31 of London's rivers all of which ends up in the Thames. Ho hum.

Beyond the doom and gloom, great to see le Parisien splashing on swimming in the Seine today. More than €1billion spent on making it happen.

RT if you agree that CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere, greenhouse gas emissions & projections should be reported on in the media as much as GDP is.

🌍📈 🏆 We just pushed the atmosphere to a new RECORD HIGH for WEEKLY #CO2 😰 424.40 ppm CO2 at Mauna Loa (via Maunakea) in 17th week of 2023 🏆 Up 4.21 from 420.19 ppm a year ago 😰 @NOAA data gml.noaa.gov/ccgg/trends/we… 🌍 CO2.Earth records co2.earth/co2-records 🌍

Heritage of entire High St Cathedral Quarter area is vital tourism product.. ripping out heritage buildings is height of short-sighted stupidity.

Info: DUP & SF gave planning to venture capitalists who 1. asked to demolish all of this to build more shops/offices we don't need 2.Don't have the money to actually do it & are hoping to flip it once they get planning, thereby leading to ongoing derelictionerelictioneriliction

A closer look at the devastation of North Street Arcade, footage courtesy of @drone_ni32202 If you're angry about what you see here and how the rest of CQ's heritage is being mistreated, remember: planning is with Belfast City Council. Vote accordingly at May elections. 🗳

Good Karma ❤️

Greed is a choice . It's that simple. Mam & Dad gave us values as kids ,a lifelong mantra. " If I don't already have it , I probably don't need it."We sold the family home over the weekend. At the start of the process,we engaged a local estate agent & as a family insisted 1/3

Remember, Paris wasn’t “always this way.” It wasn’t even this way in late 2019 when I was there last. Just a few years ago, #Paris was choking in car traffic. This is new. This is leadership. Cities are a result of choices. Video via @Khayat_Fouad
