Poet Bernadette Hall takes us out with her into a field. This poem transports you out of the city into the field. The full piece can be found in the 2001 Autumn issue of Landfall. #poetrycommunity #poetry #poetrylovers

The Magic Mountain was published 100 years ago. For the @NewStatesman I went to Davos, where Thomas Mann was inspired to write and set the novel, in search of its enduring meaning. Little did I know its centre of gravity had mysteriously migrated east... newstatesman.com/ideas/2024/11/…

Afraid to say it turns out the bus time savings promised by the Minister when he announced his plan for two new central city highway tunnels do, in fact, rely on the completion of a new bus route through the city that his government just declined to fund. thepost.co.nz/nz-news/360499…

The Minister should release the modeling for the bus time savings he promised when announcing a plan for two tunnels to widen Wellington’s urban highway, including any unfunded projects his time savings rely on. We, the actual public transport authority, asked for this weeks ago.
