Protest is not a gift from the state - it is a fundamental right. The very idea that it is up to the police to decide whether or not to "tolerate" the exercise of this right is ludicrous and should be of great concern to everyone.

Our tolerance for any disruption, whether through protest or otherwise, will be low. We will deal robustly with anyone intent on undermining this celebration. 🧵🔽

I've done lots of media on the coal mine, and I'm struck by how journalists' questions, and indeed many campaigners' statements, essentially embed the false debate over the mine. An explanation - and some alternative questions - in a thread 1/9

Landlords don't provide housing. They hoard it and demand half our income for access to it. Rents are too damn high. Dangerous disrepair is common. The housing system has already "broken down". Homes should be controlled by the people living in them.

I’m a “private landlord” so are many of your friends. Anyone who has held on to a flat they had before a relationship is a private landlord, over 40% of UK homeowners have a share in an additional property. The entire UK housing system would break down without private landlords.
