(And I don't think everyone should pay the same tax, its disproportionate to people on lower wages)
#bbcqt Predictably first question is on farming and IHT but I bet they don’t mention the organiser of the protest ⬇️
STORY Farmer protest organiser was behind racist and homophobic posts online mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…
Not quite as simple as that I'm afraid. I'm sure that there must be some farmers who this will hurt. But you're right. The arguments displayed by the likes of Clarkson were boorish and insulting and ruined the argument. Not much coverage of tenant farmers either. I wonder why?
Jeremy Clarkson paid £4.45 million for his farm, I wonder how much he has in his off shore accounts, it's only wealthy farmers, that don't want to pay the inheritance tax, they will not pay anything until their son's daughter ect have inherited the wealthy farms.
Only Philp in charge of Policing when these guidelines came in could post this and think he could get away with it Seems now though the Shadow Home Secretary supports political interference in policing?????
It should never have come to this The police should not be policing thought or speech Police time should only be spent on criminality or behaviour likely to lead imminently to criminality I urge the Govt to urgently change the guidelines on NCHIs to stop it happening again
To British farmers: Your spokesman is a very rich, very offensive, very bigoted man who lives in a Cotswold mansion, has garages of cars worth £2.1 million, and prides himself on tax dodging, As long as you validate this man, nobody is listening to any arguments you might have.
For those who can't read the article Seems like a sweetie #ToriesAreOut #StarmerIsPM139 #farrightfails #politics
Not quite. His authenticity and traditional left values would have been perfect to counter the far left nonsense we are seeing today.
He was also a great working class politician frequently patronised by politicians and the media. A phenomenon Angela Rayner is experiencing today.
John Prescott was a politician both behind and ahead of his time. Considered too bluff and old Labour to reach to the very top in the 90s, today his authenticity and class credentials would have been perfect to fight Farage and populism. Labour needs more like him.
I'm now on Bluesky - dalevince.bsky.social I'll be staying on X because I think it's important to continue speaking to the far-right rather than blocking them out... But I am wishing for the eventual collapse of First Lady Elonia Musk's platform.
At least they had the sense not to let Farage speak...🫣
Let me get this straight: Jeremy Clarkson bought land to avoid paying inheritance tax on his millions. Nigel Farage & Boris Johnson promised Brexit would save farmers & fishers, but it ruined them. And now they're all claiming to represent the interests of struggling farmers?
I am deeply saddened to hear of the death of John Prescott. John was a true giant of the Labour movement. On behalf of the Labour Party, I send my condolences to Pauline and his family, to the city of Hull, and to all those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
Clarkson has also been shown in his true colours.
Now that the dust has settled ... the farmer's protest and wall to wall positive coverage by the MSM hasn't garnered public support for their cause but simply informed the public that some greedy farmers and landowners don't want to pay their fair share of taxes. #Backfired
Reminder - as if it were needed - that Starmer's Government inherited a situation in which hardly anything worked or was fit for purpose. That is not turned around in a matter of mere months. They have 5 years to make a positive difference to a long-standing malaise.
More facts Budget last month - the Government announced the biggest funding in history to help our Farmers. Yesterday we heard in PMQs that the previous Government didn't even manage to get money out the door for farmers, failing to spend over £300 million on farming budgets.
Could you possibly tell us in advance which right wing commentator, Tufton street grifter, GB news/Talk tv nonentity,or 2nd Tory will be invited to the panel along with the Tory today as is the case every single episode of politics live? @lisanandy @BBCPolitics #PoliticsLive
