That's exactly how I see it. Makes the code so much easier to read. It results in increased lines of code with lower overall complexity. Better readable and easier to maintain, test and debug.

It’s so helpful for readability, you can mentally eliminate cases. If <something>, stop thinking about it. If <something else>, also stop thinking about that. (etc) And you’ll end up with simple code at the bottom, no indentation, just the one thing you want.

I've never really understood why so many devs don't do that. To me it's "fail fast" on method level. Makes perfect sense!

Literally just read about using early return in @KentBeck's "Tidy First?", and it broke my brain because it makes perfect sense and yet so many people say "don't do it"

Very well put!

The Truth about slavery @DavidLammy should listen to this as well as the @RoyalFamily @UKParliament @Nigel_Farage

That's a great analogy!

This nicely illustrates the general truth: "People expect too much in 1 year and too little in 10 years".

Sounds like you need @QuarkusIO

Things I wish @springboot had: 1. CLI for dev productivity: spring deploy (k8s), spring upgrade (@OpenRewrite) 2. Zero-code Dev Services with @testcontainers 3. First-class OpenTelemetry integration 4. Resilience APIs (eg MicroProfile Fault Tolerance) 5. Built-in OpenAPI support

The perfect release to run on a Raspberry Pi! 😄

We released Quarkus 3.14. It comes packed with new features: Hibernate stack update, Let's encrypt support, faster reflection-free Jackson serializers and a lot more! As usual, we recommend quarkus update to update your applications. buff.ly/4e16hov

Couldn't agree more! The reliance on cloud services without any clue on how to replicate those locally by yourself can only result in hugely overpaying. Not to mention the lack of fallback scenarios.

If more developers ran Linux on their desktop, maybe they wouldn't be so petrified of running a server by themselves. We are unlearning the basics of the Internet at an alarming rate.

Nice work @JagoVreede !

I want to make SKDMAN-UI available to the public at github.com/jagodevreede/s… Its a GUI (written in Java-FX) for #SDKMAN and works on Windows (other os will come later).

The #Framework laptops modular design makes them ideal for families. So far I’ve got myself (16inch AMD) and two teenage daughters (13 inch Intel gen 12 and 13) on Framework laptops, and my wife’s older laptop is acting up which is the perfect moment to buy her a (currently…
