Thrilled to share our latest discovery: spontaneous speech with recursive self-feedback can boost communication for people with chronic aphasia—even in real-world settings! A step forward in empowering self-directed recovery. 🗣️ #Aphasia #SpeechRecovery tandfonline.com/eprint/R5XUY6S…
We are recruiting PhD students at @Cornell ! Our research covers a diverse range of topics, including perception and internal representations, cultural evolution, large-scale online experiments, cross-cultural studies, and computational music cognition. Please spread the word!

Hurricane Milton: I’ve never experienced anything like this before.
Excited to be invited to discuss our work at the ANCDS conference. Looking forward to connecting with fellow scientists and exploring new ideas on inclusive and personalized approaches to neurorehabilitation of acquired and degenerative communication disorders.
The Annual ANCDS Scientific and Business Meeting is a virtual, multi-day event on "Culturally Responsive Interventions in Neurogenic Communication Disorders." Save the date for Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, from 6-9pm CST. More information coming soon: buff.ly/3e1rSzD
Just read this interesting paper by Itai Yanai & Martin Lercher. Also loving their podcast Night Science—always packed with great insights.
Doing good science is 90% finding a science buddy to constantly talk to about the project.
Working with Nori has been an incredible learning experience. Highly recommend this opportunity for anyone looking to grow, learn and collaborate with an inspiring scientist!

Thrilled to share my latest paper! Our study replicates findings on how recursive self-feedback helps individuals with non-fluent aphasia improve their language production autonomously. Check it out—it's open access!
Findings confirm initial evidence that persons w/ non-fluent #aphasia can self-improve sentence production from scripts through recursive self-feedback, enabling them to autonomously enhance their language production over time. on.asha.org/3zwVSCs @SIGPerspectives #SLPeeps

I visited Tallahassee & posed with my bro’s @SamdGreat01 poster that won a best poster award. Come to think of it, Sam, we’ve met in different cities: Ibadan, Iwo, Osogbo, (some other town we met during Rural Rugged), New York City, Tampa & Tallahassee.
Happy to share our latest paper on a proposed self-regulated learning framework for aphasia rehabilitation. tandfonline.com/eprint/TJI7NRC…

Researchers @UCSF, led by neurosurgeon Edward Chang, MD, have used #Neuropixels probes to record activity from hundreds of individual neurons while participants listened to speech. Out today in @Nature, this study gives us a view into how the brain analyzes the sounds in words.
Really enjoyed the broad theoretical context given to the very clinically useful results in this presentation.
I’m glad for the invited opportunity to present our work on the role and the effects of recursive functional learning & recursive self-feedback on spoken language performance in persons with chronic nonfluent aphasia. #AoA2023
