Looking back on this one. "Like Father, Like Son." #algorithmicart #digitalart

A look at the 3D sorting algorithm I've been developing for these buildings. I know the window style doesn't match the balcony. One thing at a time haha. Doors will make more sense. #algorithmicart

I really prefer the term #algorithmicart right now. Unlike generative, these pieces don't come from a singular algorithm that can churn out editions. It's more like I'm making #digitalart pieces with procedural drawing algorithms as my main brushes.

Lots of focus on textures, cracks, weathering... Plus, new types of windows. #algorithmicart #digitalart

More progress on this. #algorithmicart #digitalart Can you tell I live in Brooklyn?

Shadow work (literally). I broke the building into parts: Windows, Bricks, Molding, and - with a little editing magic - layered in shadows from the molding (the gray stones) on the bricks. Rly helps make the building more convincing. #algorithmicart #digitalart

And here's what one of these buildings might look in a piece. #algorithmicart #digitalart It's still a bit stiff to my eye, so more work to be done, but promising yeah?

A little bit more progress on this. #algorithmicart #generativeart

I think having better buildings can take my work to a new level, so I've been giving this algo some attention lately. #algorithmicart #generativeart

Tree or no tree? As much as I like these front trees, I wonder if this one comes across well... The scene without it is also pretty cool. Hmm. What do you think? #algorithmicart #digitalart

many layers. each one created with code. #algorithmicart #digitalart

Made some changes, which helped the realism - but also - this just hits different when it’s on a big screen. #algorithmicart #digitalart #photorealism

Over the weekend, I unexpectedly cracked back into this unpublished piece in my "City Out There" series. #algorithmicart #digitalart

"Wildfires Haze". Really dialed up the faded look on this one. What can I say? I love that aesthetic. These pieces are supposed to elicit the feeling of memory. Of course, these are not real places. #algorithmicart #digitalart foundation.app/@gaw1ik

This exposes my process a bit. Every element, except for the simplest of block shapes (like the pole shadow), are generated via javascript and then layered in a photo tool. #algorithmicart #digitalart foundation.app/mint/base/0x97…

I was never one to deploy my projects with the draw animation, but I realize now that - in addition to the visual - it might serve a systematic purpose. It breaks up the call stack, making massive "drawing ques" manageable for browsers. Am I right about this?
