Days 19, 20, 21 & 22: 1,996 It seems unlikely I can make it to 50k at this point. It's OK though because I'm pretty sure any words at all is a win. And I've learnt a few things: I need to focus more. I am too distracted by research. And I think maybe 'plontsing' isn't for me...

Day 18: 333 Today's distractions include: > Research on dog breeds (not relevant to story) > Watching my husband play 'The Last of Us' > Going for a walk/jog (jalk?) > Installing door handles > Eating > Drinking Tea > Work > Other unidentified things that were necessary...

Day 17: 708 Struggling today. It happens. It's still 700 more words than I had yesterday.

Day 16: 2,093 Is it already day 16?! That means there are 45 days until the end of 2020. Meanwhile, I met my unofficial goal of 2000+ words a day. Huzzah! Hope everyone is getting some writing in. Win or not, it's the words that matter. Just write it.

Day 15: 3,225 And that's halfway, folks. Sundays are good for writing. I don't think it's the best I can do, but I'm also struggling a bit with the plot. Overall I'm pretty happy. #nanowrimo2020 #amwriting

Days 12, 13, 14: 2,051 total. Thursday was a power outage for most of the day. I got a manicure instead. Friday was a zero day. Enough said. Saturday I prioritised catching up with friends, as I haven't seen them for a while (i.e. July). Ever onwards!!! #nanowrimo2020 #amwriting

Day 11: 1,353. Another busy day, what with PT and meetings and driving around. But I managed to fit some short 300-400 word sessions in the gaps which felt pretty good. As my PT is always saying, just keep chipping away! Good luck fellow Wrimo's!

Day 10: 532 Not so great today. Tired, busy at work and a humid day equal me having a headache. And not getting much writing in. Fingers crossed for a GREAT day tomorrow. #nanowrimo2020 #amwriting

Day 9: 2,741. I'm pretty happy with that. Happy Monday, everyone. #nanowrimo2020 #amwriting

Days 6, 7 and 8: 2,992. Unforetunately I was struggling yesterday and ended up deciding to enjoy the sunshine and the new Phryne Fisher book instead. No matter. Just got to keep chipping away at it. Hope everyone else is doing well! #nanowrimo2020 #amwriting

Day 5 (belated): Getting more into the groove of writing whenever I can. Up earlier today to get some in before work as well, which felt great. Apologies in advance for any typo's, currently writing around the cat. #nanowrimo2020 #amwriting

Day 4: 2,099. Whew. Getting there. Still not caught up - so it's a good thing there is a weekend in a few days! Definitely distracted by the USA Election today. I'll be back tomorrow! #nanowrimo2020 #amwriting

Nanowrimo Day 3: 1,795. Nowhere near what I needed to write to catch myself up. But I did make two new masks, so on balance, OK. Tomorrow awaits! #nanowrimo2020 #amwriting

Not a great second day. But these things happen. Only option: push on! #nanowrimo2020 #amwriting

Day 1: Minimum word goal achieved. But it's Sunday, so I think I'll keep writing... #nanowrimo2020 #amwriting

My warped sense of time at the moment is really compounded by the Postie coming on Saturdays. It is Saturday, right?

One of my guilty pleasures - watching strange kids movies...

Aus publishing is more lacking in diversity than the books we publish. If you’re from a diverse or marginalised community & interested in getting into Aus publishing, I would love to chat & offer what advice I can on how to make this happen. alexadsett.com.au/news-articles/…
