As @VitalikButerin points out, there are three Egyptian god cards that are about to be played in cryptography over the next several years: 1) ZK: prove computation without revealing data 2) FHE: compute on encrypted data 3) Indistinguishability obfuscation: obfuscate the…
we'll be looking at the lack of light client verification in every web3 connection the same as we look at the lack of ssl in any http connection
This is amazing to see. Improving worldwide access to basic payments/finance has always been a key way that ethereum can be good for the world, and it's great to see @Celo getting traction. See also their recent posts: * @Celo becoming an Ethereum L2: docs.celo.org/cel2 *…
I think people will be surprised by how quickly "cross-L2 interoperability problems" stop being problems and we get a smooth user experience across the entire ethereum-verse (incl L1, rollups, validiums, even sidechains). I'm seeing lots of energy and will to make this happen.
Remember, every web3 dev journey begins with a single commit. Embrace the grind, because the rewards are worth the gas fees. 💪🚀
Bitcoin has failed to become a global decentralised digital currency, instead falling victim to fraud and manipulation. The recent approval of an ETF doesn’t change the fact that Bitcoin is costly, slow and inconvenient, argues #TheECBBlog ecb.europa.eu/press/blog/dat…
I liked most of this until it went into "National Security" and discussed effectively regulating "frontends" like Sammy Boy wanted. I view this as a poison pill. The next version of the web will mean that everyone will have permissionless access outside of ICANN. You can't…
The time has come for crypto to start putting forward our view of ideal DeFi regulation DeFi is a fundamentally new way to build financial systems, so requires a fundamentally new approach to regulation. Here is my view on what that should look like dydx.exchange/blog/defi-poli…
Has Uniswap lost the plot and become part of TradFi? The Uniswap interface censors many users so I deployed a fork of the UI without censorship on IPFS. I found out that Uniswap has been sending takedown notices to IPFS gateways demanding they take it down. 🧵 1/3
People seem to be falling for two rather thoughtless extremes: 1. "LLMs are AGI, they work like the human brain, they can reason, etc." 2. "LLMs are dumb and useless." Reality is that LLMs are not AGI -- they're a big curve fit to a very large dataset. They work via…
1k TPS is a drop in the ocean of the world's demand for Web3. The Internet can't run on a single server. The Internet of Value can't run on a single monolithic blockchain, no matter how fast and willing to sacrifice decentralization. The endgame is ZK singularity: ⧫…
Say what you want about SOL hitting its scaling limits today At least SOL is trying, as ETH gave up on scaling a long time ago SOL is clocking in over 1k TPS of real usage every day! While ETH has remained stuck on 100 TPS for three years, they have no ground left to stand on!
@Justin_Bons, @aeyakovenko what do you say? Tribalism aside, let's steelman each other's arguments. I admire Solana's steady committment to its thesis: pushing the boundries of what a single synchronous blockchain engine can process. It's innovations are awesome, especially…
Hey @Blast_L2 It's not very cash money of you to fork Optimism's code, add a typo, remove a function, and then change the license...
It was hard but they found a way to make optimism less secure WP guys
Many OpStack chains that used to post data to Ethereum seem to have started posting it elsewhere. Now to fetch full history you have to source data from more than one place. Do you think this trend will reverse with 4844 when posting data will be significantly cheaper ?
the early Internet was chaos tons of competing standards, all fighting with each other to see what would stick but one interesting thing was everyone converged on TCP/IP at base layer the rest of the emergent battles were on top of it reminds me of something else...
ENS just rolled out Gasless DNSSEC! ✨ You can now import your .com, .xyz, and all other DNS TLDs for free! Let's dive into what that means, and how it affects you 👇
Yes, you really can lose all your ETH if you stake with Geth This article is not an attack on Geth. I have the utmost respect for their team. Unfortunately, through no fault of the @go_ethereum team because of how widely used Geth is we need to have honest conversations about…
@superphiz Want to see how I #stakefromhome as a nomad? Well, home is were we park it! This setup is running validators over #starlink and is powered by the sun. Fun fact- this rig is simultaneously fuzzing beaconchain clients too :) #testingthemerge
More testnet blobs on the way .oO Dencun will activate on Sepolia Jan 30, and on Holesky Feb 7. If running a node on either network, now's the time to update it! Assuming both of these go smoothly, mainnet is next ✅ blog.ethereum.org/2024/01/24/sep…
