🧵1/20 The first days of school are crucial for setting the tone for the entire year. Establishing expectations early can lead to a classroom environment where learning thrives. Consider a staggered return of students, affording the time to have sessions with all on school ethos.
Looking for examples of centralised department agendas, with a T&L focus. Whole school or trust- does anyone have anything they’d be willing to share? Thanks!

A Behaviour Story. 📖 🧵 I once worked with a man - let’s call him Bob 👴🏼. When I met him in Jan 2019, he had just come off a PIP (Personal Improvement Plan) because students were not behaving well enough in his lessons - it was his fault (of course) 🙄.
"You need a very very very clear concept of what you want your school to look like, down to the minutiae..." @BarryNSmith79 with @clivewright1969 on where to start building culture at @exemplaryLP
Start from the moment gates open in morning. Every interaction until last person leaves the site at night.

Our coffee ☕️ morning today was led by @MissTBegum on Ratio. We used an @Inner_Drive and @Doug_Lemov resource to unpick where we might fall in our questioning! #WeAreFGCS

Any recommendations on books or research for QA?
Evening all. I’m looking for examples of a QA calendar for inspiration. Teaching and learning focus, DDIs, book audits, send focus, links to curriculum line management. Is anyone willing to share? Please and thank you. 🤞

During this week's pastoral bootcamp we looked at how we can deliver the most effective year team meetings and how we can create the best team of form tutors @FgcsInfo @FgcsTlc @MissTBegum #wearefgcs
I simply think that to be a good teacher you have to plan lessons. Planning effective lessons is equal to delivery in importance.

Bit of inspiration…
@CST_London held a board development day today and it turned out to be much more inspirational than it sounds… 1/9
Another behaviour thread: Why tactically ignoring is often a bad idea. Scenario: A student is committing a minor infraction in the lesson. Rocking on their chair, chewing gum etc.. Teachers are commonly recommended to tactically ignore small infractions like these..1/13
