The swiss army knife of IDEs I’ve been using for years and (despite it’s weird UI) still lightyears ahead of Xcode in many areas is going away. It’s a shame they never got a better market share to support development of the product 😭 I’ll keep using it for as long as it works.
With the release of v2022.3, we are sunsetting the AppCode product. We’ll no longer sell new subscriptions or renew existing ones. All active subscriptions will get a fallback to v2022.3. Thank you for being with us! More information: jb.gg/sunset-appcode
I totally love these short, useful and fun Swift tips that give you everything you need without a whole blog post to read. Congrats, Vincent!

Pro tip for macOS developers: Add this to your Info.plist to avoid the prompt about non-exempt encryption: <key>ITSAppUsesNonExemptEncryption</key> <false/> iOS developers can use it too, but you probably already know since you've been using TestFlight longer ;-)
What a view! Make sure to save May 16-17 2022 for the next App Builders event. We will be sharing more details in the new year.
My hometown hosts an amazing sailing boat show / race with beautiful, century-old units (nearby Cannes does another this week). No need to understand French, the video is gorgeous.

Combine is already outdated, your app should switch to combineLatest.
Today I noticed that my Magic Trackpad is not stable anymore even after cleaning the rubber feet. It looks like it’s slightly swollen. Is there a way to remove the battery? I only use it wired.
Swift tip (contains an underscore, so proceed with caution): ever wanted to expose things from a given internal framework to another internal framework without exposing them to other targets? You can do that since Xcode 12 with @_spi
The new Swift Concurrency feature comes with a Cooperative thread pool which makes it more performant than GCD. There is a great session about the implementation details of Swift Concurrency that I highly recommend watching. developer.apple.com/wwdc21/10254
The explanation of how this demo internally works on the hardware of a disk drive is nuts.

🤯 raise your hand if you didn’t know this
good advice! There's also a subtle issue to be aware of when using po/p in Swift: they retain values for the entire debug session. po/p create a persistent variable in lldb, which means their resources are not freed. Use v/vo when debugging memory issues and retain cycles.
An OVH datacenter partially burns down in Strasbourg. While you may think DCs are super-secure concrete bunkers, sometimes they are just piled-up containers that could be a scene in Ready Player One movie 🤪
