We are potting up a variety of plants and making them available - free - to Fork to fork forest garden visitors via our occasional pop-up stall.

Our entrance borders, require no watering, even in the driest weather, and minimal weeding. This spring we experimented with a "chop and drop" system, leaving leaf litter and dead herbaceous material in place, eliminating the need for additional mulching.

Over winter we started coppicing our hazel and alder trees, and are now using the wood for construction projects. Last week the volunteers completed the first of a series of rustic arches.

Our plum orchard had become overgrown with weeds, so we are redeveloping it according to forest garden principles. We are underplanting the trees with gooseberries and rhubarb, and will be planting garlic (to deter pests) and native daffodils (to attract pollinators).

Thursday was International Therapeutic Horticulture Day. So the team decided to stop work early and have a Therapeutic Barbecue instead...
