I think I'm gonna pretty much be done with Twitter, at least for a while. Come find me at Bluesky bsky.app/profile/fienen…

Everybody watch out! I'm reading TWO books at once. Like a MADMAN.

I'm running three fantasy football leagues, and I'm absolutely BURNING through quarterbacks.

Do I know anyone that's tried out Dead Island 2? Thumbs up or down? Better or worse than the first?

If Matt keeps up his current strategy, WP Engine might end up owning Automattic when it's all said and done. From the filing for an immediate injunction against Automattic:

Toxic is as toxic does. This is extraordinarily toxic. The WordPress #accessibility team has fought and uphill battle for decades, with Matt being one of their biggest blockers. This response is extremely on-brand.

I'll just drop this here. Matt Mullenweg responding to the a11y team reps not being able to log-in: "We should find some new team reps to replace them, do you have any suggestions?" make.wordpress.org/accessibility/…

The WordPress subreddit is burning.

Being married to an alcoholic taught me that there is a certain kind of man who will devote every moment of their waking energy to spiting you, by any means possible, even if they have to destroy everything and everyone around them to do it.

I see your Tragedy of the Commons and raise you The Weaponized Commons

"Financially associated with WP Engine" also means having a ACF Pro license, a WPDB Migrate Pro license, an WP Offload Media license or donating to LocalWP, by the way.

Matthew Charles Mullenweg, what is this. Death by a thousand cuts?

Please consider my plugins hosted on wordpress.org to be abandoned. When @photomatt was asked if owning an ACF license banned users from logging into .org, he replied "Consult an attorney" See: https://t.co/MKwPLrf2kP

Since one of my customers still hosts with WP Engine, I am financially associated with WP Engine. So now, after contributing for 13 years, I am no longer allowed to contribute to WordPress. What the actual fuck.

THEN WHY ADD THE CHECKBOX IN THE FIRST PLACE, MATT???

WordPress just willfully feeding evidence to WP Engine's lawyers is such a stupid and wild thing to see happening in real time.

This post is unavailable.

Listening to a lawyer go through the WordPress/WP Engine drama is very cathartic. Also nicely validating of my overall opinion and expectations on how this will probably go. twitch.tv/videos/2261286…

If there's one takeaway from @photomatt's sudden temper tantrum against @wpengine, it's how desperately the community needs real governance present in WordPress's development and management. This isn't the first time Matt's ego has harmed the community, but it should be the last.

Remember, Automattic INVESTED IN WP ENGINE several years ago, and then chose to divest themselves. Funny how there was no issue with the business practices then, which haven't changed significantly in the intervening time.

Matt Mullenweg, CEO of Automattic, has misused his control of WordPress to interfere with WP Engine customers’ access to WordPress.org, asserting that he did so because WP Engine filed litigation against Wordpress.org. This simply is not true. Our Cease &…

I almost want to do a special episode of Drunken UX to go over the WordPress situation. From the dishonest, shady statements and arguments coming from the WordPress/Matt side, to the outright dismissal of users' concerns, this will do damage to the WP community for years to come.
