I get this refrain a lot, that American Jews are too safe and coddled to understand Israeli Jewish fears, and it's worth unpacking how much it conflicts with the promise that a Jewish state will be the only place Jewish people can ever be safe.

I'm shaking in disbelief. My boy right here, did the impossible for yeshiva and for aliyah. Multiple yeshivot, moves. Then multiple conversions for aliyah. His life-saving medication has no substitutes and (I kid you not) is not marketed in 🇮🇱. Uprooted his life countless times.
