The Blast is so much better than most comps, and infinitely better than the Hundred. This is because, despite the ECB doing their absolute best to bury it and bag it off, the players and fans care about it. You do not get this in nearly all the horseshit franchise leagues.

@MarkJChilton You say you love Lancashire cricket. If you really do then announce your resignation at the end of the season. Your remit was to improve Lancashire and Thunder as well as develop young home grown players. Apart from Hurst they’ve all gone backwards.

There's been lots of chatter in the mainstream media, and from certain MPs, in the last few days about trade unions. So, here's a reminder of exactly why working people need a voice. #JoinAUnion

If you were looking for an example of where The Hundred ranks in terms of importance to top international players, the answer is apparently 'below the Global T20 Canada'. (Toronto Nationals are linked to Afridi's PSL team, the Lahore Qalandars, but still...)

Shaheen Afridi has signed for Toronto Nationals in the Global T20 Canada, weeks after withdrawing from a £100,000 contract with Welsh Fire in the Hundred Short-form leagues need better regulation: this should be enough for the ECB to ban Shaheen for the 2025 edition, for example

There’s also been time for a director of football (G Broughton), two heads of European scouting (G Chamberlain, L Griffin) and a head of UK scouting (T Sutton) to all come and go, with a head of football operations (R Gestede) appointed and a head of technical to follow.

In case you've not been following closely, since Stu Harvey left in April 2021, Rovers have appointed a head of recruitment in July 2021 (J Park), July 2022 (G Williams), April 2023 (S Kimberley) and now in June 2024, the man that was appointed in July 2021 has been reappointed.

Two years after this government promised action on P&O, ITV reveal that they are still paying their staff below the minimum wage.

Just jumping off the York train at Preston, before all the Rovers fans jump on it 🙂

They will be busy concentrating on the important issues, like making a cringey announcement video

Good news, Rovers fans! I’m reliably informed the Rovers Twitter account will finally be updating the fans at 17:00 today. Obviously none of us have any idea why and the update isn’t already all over the internet and television.

John Eustace has agreed to become Blackburn’s new manager and should take charge of his first game at home to his former club Stoke tomorrow. #Rovers

Perhaps it’s been done, but they ‘saved’ instead of ‘submit’.

From the ‘you couldn’t make it up’ department of Rovers
