I resigned a few hours before hearing the news about @ilyasut and @janleike, and I made my decision independently. I share their concerns. I also have additional and overlapping concerns.
I have a strong intuition: AGI will come earlier than predictions, therefore ASI will come soon after that, so will LEV. “Reality” will split. It’s an insane trip no one is ready for, and there is no seatbelt.
Forecast: Consciousness and cognitive states become commodities, bought and sold in markets. This could lead to ethical dilemmas about the ownership and exploitation of conscious experiences, as well as the commodification of identity.
