Response to #WASPI petition: “It … requires serious consideration and the Government recognises it is important to do so as quickly as possible.” We need a firm date for implementation of proper compensation scheme, not platitudes. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/7007…
If nothing changes for #WASPI women in the coming weeks 1000s more will die without seeing justice,1000s more will be eating into any savings they may have left,1000s more will be getting into more dept. #DWP error has had catastrophic consequences things must change for us NOW
Today @Keir_Starmer has set out his Plan for Change. And this is what it means for you 👇
Petition: Introduce a compensation scheme for WASPI women petition.parliament.uk/petitions/7007…
It must be bureaucracy that's blocking #FairandFastCompensation for #WASPI women, @Keir_Starmer There can surely be no other reason. After all, Govt's own watchdog reported in March. You say "those days are over," so we await urgent delivery of the justice @UKLabour promised.
For too long, Britain has been held to ransom by blockers and bureaucrats who’ve stopped the country building, suffocating working people’s aspirations. Those days are over. We will build 1.5 million new homes and inject ambition back into Britain. thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…
And why not a target date for #WASPI compensation? Terms such as “as fast as humanly possible” mean nothing, but a firm date would galvanise @DWPgovuk and @leicesterliz into action before yet more thousands of women die without justice.
Work & Pensions Secretary Liz Kendall @leicesterliz tells me on @Channel4News being in government is “hard”; says if @UKLabour doesn’t deliver voters can kick them out; and she praises targets to “galvanise action” in @NHSuk - so I asked her why not for immigration too?
We are very grateful to @LSRPlaid @Plaid_Cymru for showing solidarity with #WASPI women & signing this letter to the Govt urging action after too much dither & delay. @WASPI_Campaign
Together with other Westminster party leaders, I have called on the UK Government to compensate the 1950s-born women affected by State Pension age changes. The Budget rightly addressed victims of the Post Office and infected blood scandals. WASPI women must not be overlooked.
Thank you @EdwardJDavey @LibDems for standing with #WASPI women & signing the letter to Govt urging swift action on a compensation scheme for mistakes made by @DWPgovuk We appreciate your support. @WASPI_Campaign dailyrecord.co.uk/lifestyle/mone…
A dismissive, disappointing answer from @Keir_Starmer this week as the Government delay their response to the Ombudsman's report. Still #WASPI women wait. Time and patience running out. @GrahamSNP @EmmaforWycombe @leicesterliz
"The revelation comes as the @WASPI_Campaign anticipates a compulsory reply from Parliament after their petition swiftly surpassed 100,000 backers in less than two weeks." You can still sign & share the #WASPI petition here 👇 petition.parliament.uk/petitions/7007…

#1950swomen #WASPI are & have been working people, some since the age of 15. When are you going to deliver the change & deliver for us ? Please stop dithering about @Keir_Starmer #Fairandfastcompensation is urgently needed, we need a date not further talk of working at pace.
When I say this is a government in the service of working people, I mean it. Our Plan for Change will deliver for you.

Opposition party leaders demand urgent compensation for #WASPI women, with a response from ministers before Christmas. Thanks to @EdwardJDavey @StephenFlynnSNP @LSRPlaid @GRobinsonDUP @Adrian4WV @carla_denyer @SorchaEastwood @RobinSwann_MP
#WASPI women need to know what “working at pace” means. Without a deadline, it is meaningless. We need firm implementation dates for a proper compensation scheme. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/7007… @Keir_Starmer @EmmaforWycombe @leicesterliz @UKLabour
Thank you for your question @GrahamSNP, saddened and dissapointed by your dismissive reply @Keir_Starmer #WASPI @WASPI_Campaign
It’s hard to see any logic in @Keir_Starmer’s answer, since the Budget notably made no provision at all for #WASPI compensation. Nor did he address the fact that affected women are dying at a rate of one every 13 minutes while his govt. delays.
"How many more WASPI [women] have to die before the government takes action to give them financial redress and the justice they are due?" SNP's Graham Leadbitter asks Keir Starmer says the Budget provides the "baseline for what we need" #PMQs bbc.in/4fVNfS1
I would call it a complete brush off. It's clear that British females in this Waspi situation are lower than low on his to do list. He conned votes out of people pretending he would sort this out.
#WASPI women know about resilience as well @AngelaRayner Fighting for justice for govt maladministration since 2016, seeing once stalwart supporters grow silent as they come into government yet still staying strong, knowing they have 68% of the public behind them.
Honoured to be included in this year’s BBC 100 Women list - celebrating resilience. I’ve faced challenges in my own life - and that’s why I’m so passionate about creating opportunities for those who feel held back.

Today @Keir_Starmer appeared to just shrug off the fact that 17,000 #WASPI women have died since he took office. He needs to accept that his govt’s dither and delay has real costs. Thank you to @GrahamSNP for the question.
A @WASPI_Campaign woman dies, on average, every thirteen minutes. That's 111 a day, and close to 17,000 since the PM took office. How many more need to die before this government delivers the full financial redress and justice the WASPI women are due?
