This week, I was really lucky to be part of the 'Middle Miocene informs future warming' workshop @RadInstitute, as a Research Assistant on the project. It was amazing to hear from scholars across so many disciplines, and I'm excited to see what comes out of the discussions.

I spent an amazing January and February this year studying abroad @NVICairo It was a challenging but wonderful semester. We recorded it for posterity in this Egyptological blog, for anyone who wants to read it: universiteitleiden.nl/en/nvic/educat… (I was one of the authors for Weeks 7/8)!

Excited that our final group project for Introduction to Computer Science ended up on the class YouTube channel! PhFree is a search tool where you can find UK-based funded PhD opportunities: youtube.com/watch?v=G3aF9D…

Delighted to find out that I won the @igic Emerging Professional Research Competition for my GIS project on crimes against birds in the vicinity of @Natures_Voice reserves. It was so interesting to see everyone's projects across Indiana. So glad I started learning GIS!

I love data, and have really been enjoying my GIS class semester. Here's a snippet of what I've been doing. Very excited to start work on my final project, which will likely be on bird crime and migration in the UK, and explore GIS-focussed opportunities in the future.

Finally, some @IUEgyptology representation on the revolving language screen thingies.

First attempt at hieratic. The only way is up. 😅

First day back for the second year of my MA @IUEgyptology! Excited to be taking a range of new classes, including Demotic, GIS, and even Vietnamese!

So lovely to spend the day with my 6th Form Economics teachers in rural Wales. They both had such a profound impact on my education, views, and life choices that I am incredibly grateful for!

Niche Egyptology tweet time: Rawer to Neferirkare in his tomb biography I know it's meant to be a staff but lol

Realising it's almost time to start planning my next thesis.

I don't usually tweet stuff like this, but I've been volunteering for a really fantastic organisation for six years now - I can't name it due to privacy reasons - and I've just been promoted, so, I'll now be helping train other volunteers. Really excited for what's to come!

Interviewer: Can you explain this gap in your resume? Me: Oh, that’s when the Sea Peoples invaded.

One day my hieroglyphs won't be completely terrible. I hope.

Not sure how much longer this will be available for, so if anyone wants to watch a fascinating documentary about gaming and mental health (and hear my contributions!), then have a look soon! bbc.co.uk/programmes/p09…

My first foray into (digital) epigraphy! I drew the Stela of Niankhtet (M13850) from @World_Museum Pretty happy with how it turned out! (liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/artifact/stela…)

Hi Twitterverse - debating whether to take a class in Akkadian next semester. Does anyone have any advice? I've studied all phases of Egyptian, except Demotic, and Mandarin and Japanese, which I didn't have too much trouble with, but something about Akkadian intimidates me . . .
